Because my life is boring and I have nothing else to really update. Well, we are going out to dinner tonight to help celebrate hubby's brother's birthday. Big whoop. Oh, and I'm loving my new crockpot and so is hubby, heh.
Other than that, nothing much happening. So, I took a bunch of pictures of my cats, and you guys are the lucky recipients of another picture essay. Oh, this time, it's 15 pictures behind the cut. )

Sorry I'm so damned boring lately. I suppose I'll have more to say once I start *gag* working again.

Hubby and I had the best time last night! We only had to wait about ten minutes for our table (yay, call-ahead seating!), our waiter was funny and fabulous ("yes, that water is complimentary"), the food was excellent. We were well-stuffed when we departed. And we were so happy we had decided to go early when we heard on our way out that the wait time was now TWO HOURS! Dang, we would never wait that long for a table anywhere. After supper we went to Target where I purchased a small crock pot, hubby bought birthday gifts for his best friends' kids and I picked up a few of their 50% off Christmas things. I'm all set in the Christmas card and wrapping paper department for next year. I also found some cute HP tiny ornaments and bought two sets...one for me and one for ebay. heh.

After we got home last night, Pippin was being really goofy. The photographic evidence is here behind the cut. )
My New Year's resolution is to write more and try to be a better person. I promise to update more often with lots of pictures and boring stories of my cats, my kids' weddings and my life.

I wish for everyone on my f-list, and everyone reading this who is not, a safe, happy and prosperous 2006.

We had a lovely Christmas...considering we were not able to go to Florida like we planned. We decided we would make the best of it and not sulk, so we had a good time in the country with Hubby's folks. Behind the cut are the pictures we took to document the day. )

I received the Harry Potter wand I asked for, and the perfume I wanted. I also received a DVD of the BBC tv series "Red Dwarf, season Six" which I cannot wait to watch! His folks gave me a gift card to Cracker Barrel, a scented candle and a gorgeous ruby glass mug. My mom sent us a gift card to the Outback restaurant and my sister sent us a gift certificate to Amazon.com. My dad sent us some photos of the family. Hubby's granddad gave us each a check and his auntie gave us a box of chocolates. Hubby received the footstool, a sweater, a pair of new shoes, a gift card to his video game store, a Batman ornament and a Harold Lloyd DVD from me. From his folks he got a W.C. Fields statue and a Star Wars tee shirt. Hubby's brother and his fiance gave us a package of assorted coffees from South America and fiance's daughter gave hubby a sketch pad and me a statue of a cat.

All in all, a good Christmas indeed.

Since I'm not working and my life has gotten extremely boring, this update will feature some pictures of my sister and her hubby and their newest family members. (After which I will be addressing Christmas cards! Can you stand the excitement???)

So, onward! Cute pics await you behind the cut )

And, yes he does actually bring the object back. We started with a crumpled piece of paper and that's still his favorite thing to use. He will do it with a ball, but sometimes balls will distract him and he forgets to bring it back, heh. Behind the cut are many pictures we took to document this amazing thing...since we all know how cats just hate to do anything their owners people want them to do. We have a short video, too, which is hilarious because Merry ambushes him while he's bringing the paper back and knocks it out of his mouth to steal it from him. hehehehe We have the best time watching our cats, we really do.

Here's one picture for everyone to see of Pippin bringing back the paper wad that hubby threw for him. That's Merry on the bookcase, watching in disbelief.

Here's the rest of the pictoral evidence! )

Every day, Pippin will jump onto the table and "meow" at us until we wad up some paper for him to go fetch. Hope you enjoyed this as much as we do!

Now I must turn off the computer...thunderstorms are in the area. See you all tomorrow!

Uh-oh...

It's been the same old shit happening lately, so I thought I'd post some randome pictures.

Friday at last! I don't know why I'm so tired, because I've been going to bed at my normal time each night. I am so happy it is nearly the weekend, though.
HP Trivia tonight at KA...the subject is "Quotes". I still have a few more questions I want to write and I will have 30. Hope that's not too many!

Our little Merry-kitty is home from her big adventure of being spayed at the vet the other day. She's still in a bit of pain and doesn't want to do much except lay quietly and sleep--which is fine. We missed her while she was gone.

We are going to see "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" on Sunday. Can't wait! I still think that Alan Rickman as Marvin the depressed robot is an inspired choice--but I might be biased.

This is a short entry, but I must get moving...have to stop for gas on the way to work this morning.

Hope to see you all in trivia tonight!

He's Home!

Our little boy did not have to stay overnight after all!! W00T!!! I called the vet about 3:55pm just to check on him and they told me he was ready and they were open until 5:30. So I left work right away and made it to the vet just in time. He is home, a little groggy, but none the worse for his big adventure.
I'm glad he's back, it would've been strange to be home without him.

Gonna go watch Survivor...morbid curiousity at this point.

Our little boy is going to the vet today and he will have to stay overnight. He is getting his shots and also being neutered. The vet doesn't like to do shots and neuter on the same day--I guess in case there's a reaction to the shots? So, Pippin gets to stay overnight. He and his sister have never been seperated, so I wonder how they'll take it? But, it's past time, really. I caught him trying to mount her the other night (gah!) so we've had to keep them seperated at night and when we're not home. We don't want any (more) kittens.

Merry's too young to be a mother, anyway. :P

In other news, I'm working lots of OT again this week, because there will be none next week. OT doesn't kick in unless you've "worked" 40 hours and there's two holidays next week--so this chica will be going home on time every day. And it's only a three day work week...ahhhhhh. Hubby and I are hoping to spend a couple of days in the country with his folks...we'll see how that works out.

Trying to find an outfit to wear to the Christmas party at work...not having much luck since I don't want to spend much...ebay has a couple of promising things...I may try on my wedding dress (an ivory chiffon and beaded cocktail dress that's gorgeous) to see whether or not I've gained too much weight to fit into it anymore...I'm afraid I have...

I've gotta get going, need to finish my coffee and get my shoes on. Going in to work early and staying late again today...

The most boring Survivor ever is on tonight...wonder who the women will vote off this time?

Say a little prayer to whichever diety you prefer for my little Pippin please...I'm going to miss him.

1. Stop talking about politics for a moment or two.

2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something pleasant, such as an adorable kitten, or a fluffy white cloud, or a bottle of booze. Something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS.

3. Include these instructions, and share the love.

My adorable husband taking a cat nap.

My husband had an event with his job last week in which he (and others) were asked to dress up. He wanted to go as Aragorn from LOTR, and I figured I could make him a costume.

Well, with some help from a friend in the form of a borrowed sewing machine, I was able to make his costume in just five days...he added an ebay purchased Strider sword replica...I think it turned out pretty well, what do you think?

The kittens like it!

OH, I forgot to mention, he won first prize in the costume contest...$200.00. Not to bad, eh?

There's nothing better than a lazy Saturday with the one you love. Nothing earth-shattering; he watched the samurai movie while I checked out KA--I made breakfast (biscuits and sausage gravy & eggs) which was yummy. The kittens tearing through the house like the Tasmanian Devil and his wife.
Now he's playing his PS2 and I'm getting ready to tackle Chapter 8 of my fic.

Life is good.
