I hear you about the Regencys. I stick to a few authors I love, Eloisa James, Courtney Milan, Julia Quinn (although hers can start to sound the same--BUT I love her Bridgerton series), Lisa Kleypas, Loretta Chase and most of Georgette Heyer's to name just a few.

I know GH has some awful prejudicial scenes in a couple of hers...I wince and remember she was a writer of her time. No excuses, but the other books of hers are sublime, IMO.
