My son was in a car crash last night

It was a head-on collision. (He's bruised but, thankfully, okay.) The other driver crossed over into his lane. My son swerved but still got nailed.

His car is probably totalled--the airbag deployed.

Since he just bought a house, he's going to need help to rent a car for a week--of course it has to be Christmas week--I'm trying to see if they can make it with the one car until after Christmas to save some $$. He won't be going to work for a day or two, but since he works for Amazon, yeah--busy time of year for them.

He's going to see his doctor today. He was checked out in the ER last night--no broken bones. He's very sore today.

In other shitty news, a very close friend of my Hubby's is moving to California. My Hubby is devastated. He's happy for his friend, but it's been ages since he had a close (male) friend--so he's taking it hard.

2016 can fuck right off.

Good grief. I'm sorry for your husband - good friends in adulthood seem difficult to find. But I'm also hugely relieved for your son. That's a horrible thing to happen, but he's alive and with nothing broken, so he's a lucky man, all things considered. I hope the other person was properly insured.
