Ick on the bone spur, and I'm really sorry to hear how bad things are for your MIL. My dad's alcoholism nearly killed him too. In his case, it was his heart, but he's still not able to stand or walk on his own, and he's been off booze for two years now. I hope things go better for your MIL. *hugs you*
