Thank you, PBS Great Performances

Hubby and I watched Le Nozze di Figaro tonight on our local PBS station...and it was marvelous. Having it set just before WWII let the cast have a bit more fun and be a bit more naughty than usual.

This and "The Magic Flute" are my two favorite of Mozart's operas, with "Don Giovanni" a close third.

The music...it was sublime. I don't have the words to describe the pleasure Hubby and I had watching the performance. And funny...man, we laughed a lot.

I see that Verdi's "MacBeth" is next up in February. We might have to catch that one, too. Even though I'm not a fan of "the Scottish play", I can't resist the singing.

I've never understood why some people don't appreciate opera music. Different strokes, I guess. But, I love it.
