Good news, bad news kind of day

Yesterday.

The bad news...my hubby was feeling really badly at work, so we went to a walk in clinic nearby. They suggested we go to the ER.

He was having symptoms of a stroke.

Needless to say, I was freaking out (on the inside).

We got to the hospital and they took blood, did some tests and then took him for an MRI.

TWO HOURS LATER...he came back. The doctor came into the room and said that he was not having a stroke. (Thank the gods) The pain in his arm was diagnosed as tendonitis--and the doctor didn't know why hubby's face, arm and leg on the left side were feeling numb and tingly.

So, we came home with anti-inflammatory and pain meds. Oh, and a brace for his wrist.

Hopefully that's all and the numbness/tingling didn't mean anything...but I can tell you I was freaked the hell out.

The good news is...I'm an aunt again! My brother's wife had their baby yesterday. So, Happy Birthday, Hunter Joseph! Pictures to come as soon as I get some. According to my sister, he's a beautiful baby. Strong and healthy, which is great considering he was a high risk pregnancy.

I can't wait to see him.

Sounds like he has a pinched nerve in his neck/shoulder area. This could cause some of the numbing in those areas. I've had it a few times (just on the right side) and my jawline and bottom of my arm to my pinky finger would tingle. Glad to hear it's just tendonitis and nothing more major. A good chyropractor should help if it's a nerve and anti inflamitories will definitly help.

Congrats on being an Auntie. I wish I could say the same about my brothers 2 on the way, but if the first is a preview of things to come, I hope they rarely visit.

You know, he has been bothered by a "tightness" in his shoulder for ages. I wonder if he DOES have a pinched nerve?
I have a fear of chiropracters ever since my cousin was injured by one ages ago...
Thanks for the congrats. It's easy to be an auntie when they are so far away...

eek! *comf*

My dad walked in on my mom -having- a stroke, and it's only because he booted her into an ambulance that she's whole today. So I totally know your stress.

(seriously, her tombstone is going to read, "Oh I'm fine.. you worry too much.. stop fussing...") o_O

She was very fortunate! Hubby was a bit freaked out because we had just seen a report on the news about a young woman (29) who had a stroke.

So, I'm glad we went and had it checked out.

Your mom's tombstone=Hee.

*MX!W$@Q* Crap! That's scary. Glad it turned out OK.

Me too. Hubby feels a bit foolish, but I told him that I'm glad we went and got it checked out.

He means the world to me.

It was...I couldn't show him how scared I was while it was happening...so I basically fell apart at work yesterday morning. *facepalm*

I still don't have any pics of that new baby...I have to call my brother!
