Okay, so...

I have a rash that is currently covering nearly half of my face.

It started out as a small, dry red spot next to my nose. In the last ten days it has grown to cover most of my cheek, from the eye ridge beneath my eye, across the cheekbone and along my jaw to the middle of my chin. It also covers half of my upper lip, then up the side of my nose. It is very red and swollen. It hurts and itches.

So, today I went to the dermatologist...they aren't sure what it is, but they are calling it "contact dermatolitis" and they gave me a steroid shot, an oral steroid pack to take over the next week, two topical creams and Tylenol 800 mg.

I just put topical cream #1 on and my face feels the best it's felt all week.

I have a follow-up appointment next week.

Hubby just got over a nasty lower digestive bug which was naaasty. So far, 2008 has been a repeat on a smaller, more annoying scale, of 2007 as far as the medical issues goes. Very frustrating.

To make matters worse, somehow Bank of America Visa decided to duplicate two payments I made and now I have to take my medicine-faced self to my local branch in order to straighten it out so that my checks don't bounce.

Lovely.

Fun stuff.. I get contact dermatitis from cheap metals, ie nickel and other such alloys if I wear them for more than a day. So yeah I can't wear any fake gold/thinly plated type jewelery it has to be either the real deal or silver or surgical steel.. basically the hypoallergenic stuff. If I do wind up finding out that a necklace chain isn't allergy safe for me I end up with a nice line of red bumps all around my neck... same for rings.. it produces a rash in the location and shape of said metal item. It goes away a few days after I've stopped wearing whatever it is. So I try to avoid anything of the sort.
