Muppet Movie is Awesome!

Just got back from date night with hubby--dinner and a movie (along with picking up some cat food and the obligatory new toy for our spoiled feline companions).

We saw the Muppet Movie. OMG, so good! It was sweet, funny, corny (in the best way), and full of music and cameos. All our favorites had a part including the Swedish Chef and Animal.

So. Much. Love.

Don't know what Frank Oz thought was objectionable about the script...I didn't see anything there except love and respect for the Muppets.

And Miss Piggy rocks!

Oh, and Kermit has a Rolls Royce! EEEEEEEEEE!

Not just for kids!

Now we're going to have some hot chocolate (it's down to 28 degrees already) then we'll be off to bed soon.

Sounds like fun! But... 28 degrees??? It hasn't been that cold here for over a week. In fact, I've had no heat in the house for five days now, and it's only just dropped below 60 inside. Good thing climate change is a myth, or I might wonder....

A myth--riiiiight. ;)

It's 27 here right now @ 8am. It's only getting up to 50 at most. If we're lucky.

Have I mentioned how much I hate the cold weather?

I saw it yesterday and I had some issues with it. I thought it was a bit too Hollyweird in places. While I loved all the classic Muppet scenes, I thought that the scene with the bouncing ball and the villain singing was just BAD- and not in a good "oh, he's so bad and it's Muppety goodness". I felt the scene painful to watch. the skits during the telethon were classic and I adored them all. I loved the tip of the hat to the first movie with the car travel things.

I don't plan on buying this one when it comes out on DVD.

Did love the cameos but wished that they used some of them in skits. I didn't know who quite a few of the cameos were. I guess I'm just old. I did do a little squee when "Sheldon" was Walters alter human. I adore Sheldon!

That scene was so bad I had blanked it out completely. ;)
