Once people stop talking about a thing...

...it happens. We have actual snow in Middle Tennessee. It began early this morning and is still coming down as I type. Ironically, the weather people didn't go all crazy on the news last night. I've posted some pictures behind the cut.

Our cars are just covered. Now, I know it's nothing like what my extreme northern friends get, but you'll have to excuse the Florida girl's squeeing. It's more than I've seen all in one place since I was about seven years old.

You can see the flakes (well, their reflections, anyway) in this one.

And finally, winter wonderland in our back yard. Just a moment before I snapped this picture, there was a gorgeous cardinal sitting in that tree. Then a mean ol' bluejay chased him away. Well, the picture is pretty anyway, I think.

Okay, I told hubby that if it snowed enough, I was going to make a snowman. Well, it hasn't snowed quite that much...and the snow is kind of dry and didn't pack very easily...but let me introduce you to...
Snowballman! I used the pepper flavor Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans for his eyes.

And here's one to give you some perspective of his size. (But we all know that size isn't everything, right?)

Hubby had a fabulous birthday. His team at work sang "Happy Birthday" and gave him a small cheesecake before I arrived. However, he was so surprised by the cake and I had also left him a love note on his desk which he said brought tears to his eyes. Aww. Unfortunately, his gift has not yet arrived, which I am pretty aggravated about--but perhaps it will come today. I hope so.

On a work-related note, I got 100% on all of my assessments (tests) yesterday. Go me!

edited to add pictures of Snowballman!

You people that never get snow are so cute. Glad you enjoy it. Anytime you want more, come up here- we have more then we'll ever know what to do with. Oh, and if you want it beyond biter cold, we have some of that too. It's great for snuggleing under several blankets and drinking hot beverages all day. (Coming from someone who's highs reached a wopping 11 degrees today)

Well, it's supposed to get down to 15 degrees tonight. I'm not one to wish for much more cold weather than this, honestly it's the novelty that caused my delight. I know many folks in colder climates who, like you, get much more snow and are darned sick of it. But I was delighted.

::giggling::
