T minus 24 hours and counting...

rayvyn2kBy this time tomorrow, I'll be under the arthroscope having my shoulder repaired.
I spent all day Sunday preparing a variety of casseroles, etc so Hubby and I don't starve or spend a fortune while I'm unable to cook. The freezer is packed with pasta-y goodness.
Today we pick up the meds I'll need for after the surgery. I'm not allowed to eat or drink after 10 pm, even though that's more than 8 hours, so I'm going to probably cheat a little on the "drink" part since I have terrible dry-mouth. I will not have anything after midnight...since I'll be asleep (hopefully) by that point, it shouldn't be a problem.
What will be a problem is no coffee tomorrow morning...especially since I doubt if I'll convince my hubby to go coffee-free...
Anyway, I'll ask Hubby to make a post here telling everyone I'm okay later tomorrow.

Date: 8/23/07 05:56 pm (UTC)Here's my only post-surgical piece of advice (from personal experience): DON'T and I do mean DON'T watch any funny movies for a few days after surgery. You will laugh out of control at the stupidest jokes and laugh even harder at the funny ones. This will make you hurt- alot! Then when you realise that you are laughing because you are in pain, it will make you laugh harder because it hurts too much, wich will make you laugh even more. It's a vicious circle. Severusly, it's just a bad idea all around. I thought I was going to pop a stich or two and my surgery was on my wrist!! It didn't help that my *friends* were laughing at me as well, and it definitly didn't help that it was "jumpin' jack flash" that we were watching (one of my favourite movies of all time).
