Lovely Sunday
Mar. 19th, 2012 09:01 pmDrove north yesterday to Louisville, KY to see the "Mythbusters: Behind the Myths" tour. http://www.mythbusterstour.com/
Louisville is about a three hour drive from Murfreesboro, TN. We arrived at 4:30pm (the show began @ 7:30). We wanted to have a bit of time to rest before we went out to eat then the show. I had done some research online and found there was an Irish-themed pub http://www.rira.com/rira/louisville.html that, even though it is a chain, looked interesting. So, off we went. We found the place with no trouble and were told the wait time was 10-15 minutes. Since it was about 5:30 at that point, we said okay and began to wait.
30 minutes later, we asked again how much longer--the "hostess", who was both bored and disinterested, said "Oh, I'm not sure--the kitchen is backed up." Which, considering the place was not that full when we arrived, and at least four tables had finished eating and left while we were standing there (and not re-seated), we just boggled. We waited another 10 or so minutes before abandoning that place and heading to the theatre. We decided we'd try to find someplace along the way.
(Now, if I didn't have such a HUGE aversion to the telephone, I could have found out that the theatre sells food and we could have eaten there.)
We found a diner across from the theatre and ate (a not-great, but not bad) meal there.
Then, we headed across the street for the show. The theatre is OMG Amazeballs beautiful. It is reminiscent of the bygone era of theatre palaces (which, hence the name, I guess). Just stunning decor all over.
The show was a lot of fun, and if the guys are coming to a town near you, you could find worse ways to spend an evening. :) Whoa, HUGE pictures under the ( cut. )
We stopped at a bar after and had a couple of drinks then made our way back to the hotel. This morning, we got up and had breakfast at Denny's then headed home. We got back @ about 1:00. All in all, a very nice way to spend a couple of days.
Sadly, reality strikes back tomorrow as we have to work. :(
