It's raining, it's pouring...
May. 2nd, 2010 11:29 amGregory and I are fine...the only victim of the storm for me was my wits. Because of my son...
He was with a friend yesterday. The friend's uncle who lives in Williamson county called and asked the friend to come help him as he had water coming into his house and no transportation. So, Adam's friend decides to go and of course, Adam goes with him to help.
They got caught in a flash flood. The water picked the truck up and turned it 180 degrees then slammed it backwards into a tree. The impact turned the truck upside down. Adam's friend either got out or was thrown out...Adam had to swim out of the cab. (Thank goodness he is a strong swimmer.) He and his friend were caught in the current but made it to higher ground. Someone called 911 but it was over an hour before the rescuers could get there...
Adam and his friend were taken to Williamson County hospital in Franklin...checked out and aside from some bumps and bruises are okay. Another of Adam's friends drove over (during a lull in the storms last night) and brought them home. Adam stopped by this morning and still seems shaken...he has an egg on his forehead where he whacked himself getting out of the truck window.
When I saw him this morning, I hugged him then I slugged him. Told him that when the news guy says to stay home...then you listen! His heart was in the right place, but DAMN.
The only casualty was his cell phone and his wallet. Thankfully, he has insurance on his phone.
