Valentine's day was lovely--after the work part of it. Hubby and I went out to eat. I had the foresight to make a reservation ahead of time at one of our favorite places, so we didn't have to wait too long (about 10-15 minutes-no wait at all, really, considering the day). They were telling people who did not make reservations that the wait for a table was 2 and a half hours. EEK!

I also received two new charms for my bracelet...one with hearts on it and the other is actually a chain guard. Lovely.

Hubby got a headset to use with his PS3 game...for listening and talking. This was also a gift for me since the computer is in the same room as the game and I get distracted by his gaming. ;) Yep, a very Slytherin gift.

His birthday is Friday, so this is a week of gifts for him. He has two more coming from me. I'll try to take a pic of his reaction to the didgeridoo.

Thanks to everyone who sent me a heart! {{{hugs her LJ friends}}} You guys are the best.

Well, nearly.

The day started VERY well...ahem. *cough*

I got the best Valentine card EVER.

We lazed around the place for a bit before going out to pick up a few needed household items (new bathroom rug, lighter blanket for those nights when we need something more than a bed sheet but less than the afghan I made, new shower curtain...things like that) then we headed over to one of our favorite restaurants, Carrabba's Italian Grill.

I had checked on their website for their Saturday hours, which stated 3-11. I tried to do the call ahead seating, but the phone wouldn't connect, which I thought was a bit odd. We arrived at about 4:15 and were shocked to see a sign outside which said they had opened at 12 for Valentine's day. EEK! We went in and it was packed. The hostess told us the wait was 35-45 minutes. We decided to go ahead and wait since we figured it would be that way at every restaurant. So we went over to the bar, grabbed a seat and ordered a drink. We chatted as we sipped our beverage and before we knew it, our table was available. And it was closer to 30 than 45 minutes, yet it didn't seem that long at all.

We had a fabulous waiter--thanks Josh!--and a fabulous meal that couldn't be beat. (On our way out the door, the lobby was even more packed than it had been and we overheard that the wait was 1 1/2 hours at 5:30...their staff was in for a looong night.)

Then we were off to Mordor (aka Wal-Mart) so that hubby could purchase his fortieth birthday gift to himself...a Playstation 3. We got it at Wal-Mart because my daughter-in-law works there and offered to use her discount card for the purchase...which took like 50 bucks off the final cost.

Then we went to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory store to purchase the annual chocolate which is my traditional gift. His penance for not buying my gift before the actual day. ;) (In his defense, he explained that he did not really have a valentine until he met me (Aww) so he's still getting used to it and the day sneaked up on him. I believe him and hey, I got some real quality chocolate out of the deal, so yay.)

After that, we came home and he geeked out all over his new game system while I finished up a Christmas gift for a friend I'm having lunch with today.

This Valentine's day will be hard to beat.

Our Valentine's Day was lovely. In the morning, I received a red foil bag with my favorite perfume (Amarige by Givenchy) plus a heart-shaped box of chocolates...which was a metal box with a picture of my favorite NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon on it. Ahhh, my man knows me well. He also included a mushy card which brought me to tears.

I had arranged for him to get his Valentine at work, so I only gave him a card in the morning. I could tell he was thinking "WTF?", but I was told later that once he got to work and found his gift waiting for him on his desk, he was very touched. He received a heart-shaped basket with a very soft red bear inside. The bear was cute as it was wearing a black and red satin cape and had little "devil" horns on it's head. It held a heart-topped staff which said "I Love You". So Adorable. Also included in the basket was a box of Russell Stover chocolates and a big ol' mushy card. Hee. Needless to say, he was happily surprised. Even his manager told me the same thing and then added "You're a really good wife." I thanked him and told him it was easy to be a good wife because he's such a good hubby.

The training class was hyped up on chocolate all day, so we were kind of unruly and I'm not sure how much I really learned. I also had my first one-on-one with my supervisor who basically told me my main responsibility and goal was to show up every day and learn the job.

After work, hubby and I drove over to our favorite Chinese restaurant, but even at five pm the wait was nearly an hour, so we went with our second choice. Good ol' Ruby Tuesdays got us a table in less than ten minutes and we had a fabulous dinner. Then we came home and it was Olympics on tv! (Isn't that romantic?)

Unfortunately, my "neighbors" decided they would spend three hours in the parking lot outside my bedroom window whooping and hollering and laughing and talking LOUD...so I didn't fall asleep right away and then I kept waking up all night. So I'm friggin' tired right now and I don't want to go to work, but I suppose being really tired is not really a good excuse for staying home so I have to go. I have to buy a lottery ticket or two today since Powerball is up to 300 million. I would be satisfied with 1/300th of that--and could live on it quite happily. sigh.

Hi Ho Hi Ho, it's off to work I go...Hope I can stay awake.

I would like to wish all of you a very warm and snuggly Valentine's Day! Big hugs and wet snogs to everyone!

My hubby and I exchanged Valentines last night and he gave me a heart-shaped locket, some yummy chocolate and a lovely porceline box which has an image of a black and white cat (looks like our kittens) on the top.

He got a PS2 game he wanted "Viewtiful Joe 2".

Mushy cards were also exchanged.

We are going out to dinner tonight as well.

I distributed my HP valentines along with Hershey's miniatures today at work.

Much love to you all!
