Chip and Kim....
Sep. 14th, 2004 10:34 pm...you're team number ONE!!! Woooohooooooooooooo!!!!! My favorite team has eluded the "fourth place curse" on The Amazing Race and have raced themselves from worst to first! Unfortunately, it was a non-elimination leg, so the team I hate the most who came in LAST--will stick around for another leg.
Next week, the two hour season finale!
I am leaving on Thursday night to go to Ft. Lauderdale for the weekend to visit my family and friends. I will get to see my new grandbaby and my "old" grandbaby, too! W00T! There are plans for a Saturday night dinner with some dear friends which ought to be a blast!
It looks like I'll be dodging the remnants of Ivan...it's predicted to dump a shitload of rain on Middle Tennessee right after I leave...heh. It looks like my "hurricane repellant" mojo is still working!
I have to find something to read on the plane...gads, I don't want to go to the bookstore...but I might have to stop tomorrow night.
Or, I could take my notebook and work on the next chapter of my fic...hmm.
Random thoughts:
I heard on the radio today that the "Farmer's Almanac predicts this winter will be cold and snowy. Oh, joy.
I am trying to talk my husband into taking a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Minneapolis for a once-in-a-lifetime convention. We talked about taking a short trip to Chattanooga for our anniversary...I crunched some numbers and if we skip that we can put that money (plus a couple hundred more) into a fund for the con. It's a con with Neil Gaiman (one of our favorite authors) and dedicated to his most famous comic epic, Sandman. Check out the link: http://www.fiddlersgreencon.org/ If you haven't read the Sandman graphic novels-- run, don't walk to the store and get them. Also his novel, "American Gods" is highly recommended. Oh, and Neverwhere is another awesome read. All of his works are listed here: http://www.neilgaiman.com/books/books.asp I <3 Neil Gaiman.
I'm such a fangirl.
Alan Rickman is so fucking hot.
I'm seeing a lot of construction around TN these days and I hope that this state doesn't go the way Florida went...paving over all the green places.
Guess that's all for now.
