I have been having chest pains for about a month. It started out mild, just annoying--but in the past week it had gotten so bad that it was nearly unbearable.
To say I was scared is an understatement.
So yesterday I left work slightly early and Gregory took me to the ER. One mention of "chest pain" and they hustled me into a room, hooked me up to oxygen, drew blood and got me prepped for an IV. The doctor came in and listened to my heart, they took X-rays of my chest, and then we waited for the test results to come back.
Gregory and I were pretty scared, let me tell you.
When the doctor came back in, he said it doesn't look like there's anything wrong with my heart (thank goodness) and he thinks it's acid reflux! It's weird because the pain is nothing like the burning sensation that usually comes with heartburn. He prescribed some Zantac (150 mg) to be taken twice per day for 10 days. I took one last night, and I can already feel the relief. The ER doc also wants me to have a stress test to make sure, so I have to call the heart guy this morning.
What a relief!
