So, last night hubby suggested we head to Nashville this weekend to visit the
Frist Center for the Visual Arts which currently has two exhibitions we are interested in seeing: "The Quest for Immortality" and "The Pulitzer Prize Photographs". We have been talking about going for about a month, so perhaps this weekend we'll actually get our lazy asses in gear and go. :)

Next week my son is supposed to visit! I can't wait.

The first half of this week was hell at work. I don't know why, or what happened, but I couldn't seem to get on the smooth track I had been on earlier. I got frustrated and angry and on Tuesday I actually broke down and cried. But, I'm better now. Today was as smooth as a baby's bottom. And tomorrow night, some friends and I are going to the FAB Mexican place I love. So, yay for friends, good food and fun!

I got some NY Strip steaks for a decent price today and so hubby and I are going to eat very well tonight. I also bought some seasoned potatoes and a veggie medley in cheese sauce. Does that sound yummy, or what? I also have some Texas toast that I can make as well. But that might just be going too far. ;)

I have been spoiling him this week because he's been working the "late" shift at work which means he's not getting off until 7pm. First, on Monday, I fixed him his favorite supper which is salmon patties with mashed potatoes. Then, on Tuesday, I left a mushy card and a Hotwheels Volkswagon model car on his desk for him to find when he came in and he got homemade lasagna for supper. Last night I got lazy and ordered Chinese. Today, I took the laundry to the local laundrette and had the "sweet little old ladies" wash it for us (bundle service) as a surprise for him, since the laundry is usually his responsibility. I didn't think he'd feel up to going after working so late. He was very grateful! He didn't know I'd done it as I gathered the clothes up and stuck the basket in my car last night before he got home. I emailed him before he got to work and let him know what I'd done. :) He usually grumbles when I suggest the bundle service (as it does cost a dollar a pound) but this time he was happy.

Tomorrow, he's getting another Hotwheels model, this time it's a cute little jet plane since his team's name is something to do with jets which I cannot recall at the moment. And then I'll bring him home some of that good Mexican food.

Yes, I spoil him--and YES, he is SO WORTH IT. I adore him and am so very grateful to have him in my life. I try to let him know as often as possible how much he is cherished.

Guess that's about all for this entry. I'll post pics if we do decide to go to the Frist!

I have never understood racism. Or any "-ism" for that matter. I was fortunate enough to have been brought up to be open-minded about people. Don't judge a book by it's cover, and all of that. I was never taught to fear or hate any particular group of people, for which I am grateful.

I only heard about "Blog Against Racism Week" today--so I started to think about what I had to say on the subject and how I could say it. And coming up with all kinds of platitudes and catch-phrases and general crap. So, I decided to set it aside for a few minutes and surf the internet.

I was cruising YouTube, and came across a video from one of our favorite guys, Blunty3000, which basically says everything I would have said---only better.

So, rather than writing some trite crap, I'm linking to it here. Go, watch. Then watch some of his other videos...they're both funny and thought-provoking.
