OMG I'm so tired this morning...but it is so worth it.
I watched one of the most amazing tennis matches I've ever seen last night---on par with the classic Jimmy Conners match at the US Open in 1991.
Andre Agassi won an often (for me) heart-stopping match against Marcos Baghdatis in five sets last night. This is his last "official" tournament, Andre is retiring this year. His back just can't take the pounding anymore. Last night was a throwback to all the great years of tennis he has given us.
He's been my personal favorite player for many years. I am so sad to see him go.
It's unrealistic to hope that he can make it much further than the third round--possibly the quarters--if he gets past another 25 year old called Benjamin Becker from Germany, Andy Roddick may be in his future.
But, I'm hoping for a miracle. I would love to see Andre go out as the US Open Champion.
Hey, a woman can dream....
