Printed the tax forms, wrote the checks, stuffed the envelope and stamped it. Will be mailing it tomorrow. So, that's done.

Perused various apartments for rent in our area that seem better than the one we're in, for a couple of hundred more a month. With dishwashers, central air, balconies, etc. I look and wish and hope. One day we will move out of this shithole apartment.

I've finished one book, read another and started a third this week. I haven't really been reading anything except magazines for ages, so this is a good thing. I've missed reading...getting lost in a story and looking up to find three hours have disappeared.
For the record I finally finished The Lies of Locke Lamora by [livejournal.com profile] scott_lynch (sorry it took so long, Scott! It wasn't the story, it was me.) If you like blow your mind fantasy with loads of adventure, suspense, mystery and a hero who is a master thief--this is the book for you. I loved it and I already pre-ordered the next book in the series: Red Seas Under Red Skies.

I also read Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman which is a collection of short stories and poems that are weird and wonderful.

Now I'm reading Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke which is so far, very good.

*happy sigh*

I had a lovely dinner with a friend from work last night and wound up telling her the long version of the Gregory and Me story which I love to tell, people are always so amazed at how the universe seemed to align just perfectly to bring us together. We are so lucky and believe me, we know it.

Got a flat tire this afternoon...luckily my son was home, awake and able to come help me. Oh, I can change a tire, and was prepared to do so today, but my car's jack is rusted to the bolt holding it in the trunk since my trunk does not drain water all that well. I could get the spare out, but not the jack. Luckily, he lives close, has a jack that will work on my car and was available. He changed it much faster than I could have and "bonus" took the wheel to a tire place and got a proper sized tire put on it...then came back and changed the tire from the donut-sized spare to the "new" tire.

Is that a terrific son or what? I told him he was my hero today. :D

I really need some time off the phone tomorrow to break down a couple of accounts and I intend to get it one way or the other.

Hubby was sick for most of last week, thankfully he is feeling much better now. (In fact, I'm pretty sure he's asleep-which is where I'm headed as soon as I've finished here.)

I am going to meet another friend for lunch on Saturday. And Hubby and I will be visiting his mother that day, too.

I wish I could get the Marlins' baseball games here. I hate the fucking BRAVES. And that's the only team they show here with any regularity. Fuckers.

Guess that's about it for this entry!
