Farewell, Jessie
Dec. 28th, 2008 10:10 pmGregory's grandfather's live-in girlfriend had a massive stroke yesterday about thirty minutes after we visited with her.
She and Granddaddy stopped by the in-law's house to wish us a Merry Christmas and exchange gifts. They visited for a few minutes and then left to head over to a church to listen to a choir sing. On the way up the stairs, she collapsed--she was taken to a hospital then moved to one with a neurologist on staff.
We just heard from Gregory's mother that Jessie is brain dead and they are just waiting for her next of kin to arrive before they remove her from the ventilator.
Gregory is very shook up because it was literally a half an hour after they left that she had the stroke.
His grandfather is beside himself...he and Jessie have been living together for about a year and he loved her dearly.
Please send a prayer to the deity of your choice for her. She was a sweet woman. This is the last picture taken of her...unfortunately, I only got the back of her head and they were in too much of a hurry for me to get another. Now I wish I would have insisted.
