Nancy Drew. The Black Stallion series. A Wrinkle in Time. Anything with horses in it.

2. What are you reading right now?

SS/HG Exchange

3. What books do you have on request at the library?

I buy them, I don't borrow. Too selfish for that. I want to own my books.

4. Bad book habit?

Going on buying binges. My TBR stack is horrifyingly large.

5. What do you currently have checked out at the library?

Nothing.

6. Do you have an e-reader?

My PC *is* an e-reader.

7. Do you prefer to read one book at a time, or several at once?

One at a time. Hubby keeps several going and I marvel at his ability to do so.

8. Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog?

I read more.

The Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx ~Horrifying

The Grand Sophy by Georgette Heyer

11. How often do you read out of your comfort zone?

Only during the [livejournal.com profile] sshg_exchange. I do not like angst or horror and only read those when the exchange is on in order to review. (Angsty or horrific stories tend to trigger my PTSD.)

12. What is your reading comfort zone?

Romance. Anything with a happy ending. Erotica. Mystery. Biographies. Historical.

13. Can you read on the bus?

No bus. As for the car? I'm usually driving. ;)

14. Favourite place to read?

On the sofa. On my PC for the exchange.

15. What is your policy on book lending?

I do not lend my books. I will buy someone a book if they express an interest.

16. Do you ever dog-ear books?

No.

17. Do you ever write in the margins of your books?

No.

19. What is your favourite language to read in?

English.

20. What makes you love a book?

A good story, well told. Humor. A happy ending.

21. What will inspire you to recommend a book?

The desire to share the experience of the story with someone else.

Romance.

23. Genre you rarely read (but wish you did?)

Mystery.

24. Favourite biography?

William Shatner.

25. Have you ever read a self-help book?

Tried and failed.

26. Favourite cookbook?

I don't actually own a cookbook. I find recipes online if I need one. I have memorized the family recipes and I often make up my own.

27. Most inspirational book you've read this year (fiction or non-fiction)?

The Heroin Diaries. Horrific detail of addiction. The fact that he recovered and still lives is amazing.

28. Favourite reading snack?

I don't usually eat when I read because I'm a freak about my books.

29. Name a case in which hype ruined your reading experience.

I can't think of any. I usually read the books before any movies come out. I don't usually read "hyped" books. Haven't read "The Hunger Games" for example.

30. How often do you agree with critics about a book?

I don't usually read the kind of books that are reviewed except on websites. ;)

31. How do you feel about giving bad/negative reviews?

I don't leave negative reviews for fanfic. I don't leave reviews for books at all.

32. If you could read in a foreign language, which language would you chose?

French.

33. Most intimidating book you've ever read?

I don't read intimidating books. Probably Gaiman's Sandman.

34. Most intimidating book you're too nervous to begin?

Mark Twain's Autobiography.

Edgar Allan Poe & ee cummings

36. How many books do you usually have checked out of the library at any given time?

When I was a kid, my parents had to write a note to the library so I could check out more than 3 books. I would get up to 7 per week. Is it any wonder I relate to Hermione?

37. How often have you returned books to the library unread?

Never.

38. Favourite fictional character?

Snape, Hermione, Morpheus, Benedick, Beatrice, Cinderella.

40. Books I'm most likely to bring on vacation?

Romance novels.

41. The longest I've gone without reading.

Books? A couple of months (usually when I'm writing). But fanfic I read all the time.

42. Name a book that you could/would not finish.

Moby Dick. Dreadful.

43. What distracts you easily when you're reading?

Husband. Cats.

44. Favourite film adaptation of a novel?

The Princess Bride.

45. Most disappointing film adaptation?

Most of the HP movies, but especially HP #3. I will never forgive them for fucking up the Shrieking Shack scene.

46. The most money I've ever spent in the bookstore at one time?

I'm sure I've spent over a hundred dollars more than once.

47. How often do you skim a book before reading it?

I usually read the back blurb. If that doesn't grab me, I put it back.

48. What would cause you to stop reading a book half-way through?

Characters doing stupid crap. Not being able to suspend my disbelief. In romance, if the characters are too modern (I read historicals).

49. Do you like to keep your books organized?

Ours are shelved by type and author.

50. Do you prefer to keep books or give them away once you've read them?

Unless it's really good, most of the historicals go up on Paperback Swap once I've finished them. I do keep all my Heyer books and all my Laura Kinsale books.

51. Are there any books you've been avoiding?

Yes.

52. Name a book that made you angry

See, I don't read books that make me angry. The news sites/papers do that quite well.

53. A book you didn't expect to like but did?

American Gods.

54. A book that you expected to like but didn't?

Pride and Prejudice.

55. Favourite guilt-free, pleasure reading?

FANFICTION!!!!!!!!!!! Rocks my world.<<<have to agree with this. :)
