I noticed that I haven't posted for ages. Nothing out of the ordinary happening just now I suppose.
Still enjoying my tablet, which I named Star-Lord. Heh. If hubby wants to watch something on the big tv, I can take myself upstairs and watch something else in the comfort of my bed. It's also great for game-playing.
My grandson's 10th birthday was last Friday. I can't believe I have two grandkids who are TEN. Geeze. Time flies.
Work is marginally better. My new supervisor has gotten me off the phone and on the production team. It's such a relief--I don't dread work as much. I still hate working, but at least it's more tolerable these days...
...except for the new guy who is in the cubicle next to mine. OMG what a self-important, arrogant ass he is. He just came out of training in June and he already thinks he knows everything there is to know about the job. He knows a bunch, but not as much as I know after nearly nine years. I wish he would stop trying to show me up because it's just getting pathetic at this point. Luckily, there is going to be a major floor shift (moving everyone around) soon, so I won't have to deal with his snarky, smarmy ass for much longer.
The whole Ray Rice thing has been very triggering for me. So much so that I can't watch the Raven's games, yet. I hate that because they have been one of my favorite teams. Now I'm questioning my own decision making because he is not the first person on that team to screw up (hello, Ray Lewis!), and there have been others this year. *sigh* I hate it when real life intrudes on my favorite sport.
And then there's Adrian Peterson. The photos of what he did to his FOUR year old son were horrifying. I admit, I did spank my own kids occasionally, with my hand on their bottom and never more than a couple of whacks. Mostly, I was one of those 'hippies' who put their kids in time out, or took away something they loved for a while (tvs, gaming consoles), or stood them in the corner for five minutes (no leaning against the wall allowed or the kitchen timer was restarted--do you know how long five minutes is when you're a kid staring at a corner of the room?)--etc. Beating your four-year-old with a weapon of any kind is just wrong. It might have been the way you were raised, but that doesn't make it right. Just break the abuse cycle. (And it was just announced that the Vikings reactivated him and plan to start him next Sunday. Seriously?) edited to correct myself, he wasn't traded-he was reactivated by his team.)
Hubby and I spent last weekend cleaning house, and I am really paying for it today. I didn't realize I still had hamstrings until this morning when they were so stiff I could hardly walk. Heh. Not to mention my lower back. OW. I'm home today. Will be back to work tomorrow.
I've been listing a few things on ebay, some vinyl records and things I got for free from an estate sale. Not going well, I may have listed them too high. I relisted them yesterday, but if they don't sell this week, I'm not going to bother again. I still have HUNDREDS of commemorative pins to list. I may just list them in lots of a pound each rather than trying to figure out which ones are rare. (I literally have a gallon plastic bag which is full of pins, not to mention the ones which are attached to a board for display.)
Lastly, the twins turned 1 last month. Here's the latest pic:
