I have been fuzzy-headed since Sunday. My body seriously wants to have a cold, but all of my precautions (supplement taking, steering clear of the afflicted, etc) have made my body nearly impenetrable by those germy things. So, for the last few days, I've been fuzzy-headed and watery-eyed and not-quite-there, if you know what I mean.

I left work early yesterday when I discovered that, in spite of a full night's sleep and more the night before, I was drifting into dreamland in the middle of the lesson. This does not leave a favorable impression on the instructor, so I took myself home. And I woke up with a brain full of cotton and teary-eyed and stayed home today, too. I must go back tomorrow, since I have a fear of falling too far behind in the training.
edited to add: it turns out my drift into dreamland may have been because there was a gas leak in the building. Several people passed out (including seven or eight classmates) today and they closed and evacuated the building early.
edited again on 2/22 ...the building is open "business as usual" so we're going in. Also, they are saying it couldn't be a gas leak because there's no natural gas anywhere nearby. That really doesn't mean it couldn't be carbon monoxide poisoning since they recently "upgraded" (I think that's the word they used) the a/c-heating system of the building. I have a natural cynicism of big business anyway (ever since American Express bigwigs couldn't look out the many windows of the building to see there was a tropical storm going on and kept the employees at work--forcing them to drive home in 70 mph winds and horizontal rain. They apologized the next day, but hey the National Weather Service hadn't declared an emergency...) so I'm going in but with much skepticism. We'll see what happens.

Obviously, I still haven't won the lottery. Unfortunately.

Wandered into Walgreen's, looking for pens and a gag gift for a friend and found the devil Easter candy already proudly displayed. My lowered resistance was no match for the call of the Whopper malted milk eggs and I succumbed to their siren call. I have already eaten a quarter of the bag...one by melt-in-your-mouth-goodness one and I may not be finished yet. Oh, I found the pens I wanted, but not the gift. I did find a cute Hot Wheels version of a Mini Cooper which I intend to leave on hubby's desk as a surprise for him.

I still have not received his gift in the mail and I'm really getting angry about it. I emailed the company last week and they said give it until today and then let them know. I didn't get it in the mail, but I did put a note to leave it in the office and no one was there earlier when I called--so I guess I have to wait until tomorrow before blasting them.

Mom sent me some assorted photos of myself from aged birth to young adult. Wow, the memories. Our scanner is not hooked up so I cannot share, but damn--all those years when I was being told I was fat, I wasn't so much. I was actually kind of cute, although I didn't know it at the time, I thought I was ugly. Oh, well--that's the teen years for you. Angst and self-hatred. At least it was for me.

Guess that's it for now. Gotta get back to the sofa or something.
