I am so frightened for this country. I really wish our elected representatives would grow several pairs and just impeach them already.

Talk of rewriting the manual to exclude the Geneva Convention

I think, on the whole, I'd rather have a playboy in the White House than the homophobic, idiotic, war-mongering good old boy who is the current resident.

I hope this country can survive two more years of this crap.

Um, excuse me? Does this mean we are quitting the UN? As members, we are governed by their laws, no? I was under the impression that most countries honor the GC, be they members of not, because public outcry (not to mention things like economic sanctions) is so great if they don't. Nations that don't are called all sorts of barbarous names, and looked down upon by the righteous high-and-mighties - like us.

While I am not ashamed of my country, yet, I am ashamed of our President. This is not coming about independent of him.

sigh. I don't know how long it will take to undo all the damage that has been done. I hope people in other countries realize that not all Americans agree with national policy and the behavior and choices of our "elected" leader.
