rayvyn2k | Baby Max Birth Update

#1-8:00 am CST-Amanda is in the hospital, dialated to 4, epidural done-comfortable as can be expected.

#2-8:45 am CST-Amanda's water broke. The midwife is there and she's getting ready to push. I got to talk to her very briefly and she sounded very relaxed and happy.

#3-8:58 am CST-On the phone, heard him being born...heard the happy comments from the folks in the room and the angry squall of the newborn. Everyone saying "he's perfect" and "he's beautiful" and even "he's purple" from the dad. hee. I've got tears in my eyes. I wish I could have been there in person--but this is the next best thing. I heard my daughter giggle a bit...my sister say's he's big and too cute. She's taking pics which she will be sending to me. The baby is squawking and getting weighed and pinking up really well. I can hear Amanda in the backround chuckling...very happy and relaxed. My sister reports that baby Max has a little patch of black hair and is just as cute as can be. He's 7lbs 7oz.

Talked again to my daughter. She sounds happy and tired, but she said the birth was a breeze "I guess it gets easier with practice." hee. She's going to try breast feeding--which hopefully will go well.

So, he came really fast. Welcome to the world, Maximus (no middle name yet) Raben.
