This injury is one of the most painful I've ever experienced. EVER. To make matters worse, I'm right handed, and, yes-you guessed it-the injury is to my right shoulder. (I'm typing this with one hand.)

So, I went back to work on Thursday and I have to say--they have really been fantastic. They have given me tasks to do that do not require a lot of typing. I can mouse with my left hand, so I can still be productive. This is important because I have to work as much as possible in case I have to have surgery. If that is the case, (and everyone I speak to seems to think it's inevitible) I will have to use all of my available time off for that.

I'm hoping the down time after is not too long...I know the PT will be...but I have to try to get back as soon as possible to minimize the financial hit.

I have an appointment with a specialist on Thursday, so I'll know more then.

I did see HP5 on Wednesday.

It really felt more like a collection of scenes from the book rather than a smooth cohesive story. The Dementor scene could have been shot to match the book, Mrs. Figg did not tell Harry she is a Squib nor did she complain about Mundungus...IMO it would not have taken more time to shoot that scene correctly.

Mrs. Black's portrait was cut...why? A minute or two would have been enough to include her.

And I don't know why they even bothered having Luna in it at all since they dumped the entire Quibbler plotline. The young actress who played her was spot on, however. And I loved the Thestrals.

I hated that they made Cho the betrayer of the DA, even if it was under the influence of Veritaserum. No charmed coins, no "sneak"...both of which show Hermione's skill with spells and charms.

No Hedwig being injured--which I thought might be shown after they took the time to welcome Professor Grubbly-Plank at the welcoming feast.

And Harry broke into Snape's mind and saw his worst memory? No, no, no, nonono. They should have left the Pensieve in there. They could have done a montage of Occlumency lessons like they did for the DA practicing.

I did like seeing the different Patronuses that were shown...I wonder if JKR had input on those?

Loved the evil Lucius. Yummy. Loved Snarky Snape. "Obviously." hee.

I was disappointed in the twins' departure. I wanted the swamp, dammit.

Loved Dumbledore's exit from Hogwarts. That was perfect. Loved Kingsley, although he was a bit older than I pictured him. Loved that Lupin was there, too bad he didn't have many (or was it ANY?) lines.

I have to say I was disappointed in the MOM battle...it was waay too short, IMO--not enough fighting between the DA and the DEs--not enough of the Order, either. And WTF was all that disappearing in a swirl of mist and reappearing?

I thought Harry's reaction to Sirius falling into the veil was brilliant. Dan has come a long way as an actor. Gary Oldman was spot-on as Sirius.

One last thing, then I'll stop whinging...I was sooo disappointed that we didn't get to see the Order threatening the Dursleys.

I can't wait for the book. I still think Snape will be the tragic anti-hero.

My arm is aching, so I'll stop now.

I agree on the film -especially about the Worst Memory. I suppose everyone will be disappointed with that.

And you're right about the Quibbler plotline. What's more, the *only* direct interaction between Hermione and Luna is at the beginning, in the carriage scene, where Hermione plainly dislikes Luna. I've always found that Hermione and Luna's complicity was both interesting and pleasing.

I'm sorry about your injury. I hope it will get better. Please don't bother to answer this if it's inconvenient.

I've taken the liberty of friending you, as you've left a kind comment on my fic (A Spider Book) for the Exchange. I hope you don't mind.

"...where Hermione plainly dislikes Luna."

I thought it seemed more like Hermione felt really embarrassed for Luna, rather than disliking her. I'll have to watch more closely next time I see the movie.

Ray, get better soon! *gentle hugs*

Yeah, I thought film!Hermione was slightly embarrassed, too.

I hope it gets better soon, but so far it's just been getting worse...ugh.

I really like Luna as a character, so I was quite disappointed that her plot-line was basically cut from the film.

Hey, the more friends the merrier! *friended back*

Sorry you're in so much pain. I had an injury to my right shoulder and arm a few months ago and it was awful, especially having to type all day at work. I hope you feel better soon and that surgery won't be necessary.

I liked OOTP too, but the Snape's worst memory scene was way too short! And I wanted the swamp too!!

The pain is exquisite. Luckily, my job has assigned me a task that requires more mousing than typing...although there is a bit of that too.

I think we all wish there was more of Snape's worst memory. Perhaps it will show up on the DVD extras.

Sorry you are in so much pain...I hope surgery is not inevitable...I have a colleague out right now with a rotator cuff injury that at this point will not require surgery but does require him to be out of the office for about 4 weeks...Hope yours will work out that way...Keep us posted. Luv, Beth

Well fine:( I just had a feeling there wouldn't be a swamp and that really makes me mad. Glad to hear we get to see the thestrals tho. I don't really care about the other stuff. Oh do we get to see harry being the snake and biting Mr. Weasley? I'm guessing not:(
