Date Night

Hubby and I had a fabulous date last night. He took me to see The Dark Knight. It was awesome. Full of action, drama, chills, thrills and a tiny laugh now and then to ease the tension. We want to see it again (heh, I'll believe that when my hubby drags his tail to a theatre again so soon).
After the movie we went out to dinner and spent a lovely hour talking about what we'd just seen. One thing hubby mentioned about playing Batman (as an actor) struck me as so true. He said when someone plays the Batman, he's really playing three characters. First is Batman the super hero. Second is Bruce Wayne, ethical businessman and philanthropist. Third is Bruce Wayne, the playboy/public face. And hubby feels that Christian Bale has done the best job of all playing all three.
I quite agree.
Heath Ledger as the Joker was brilliant. All the raves about his performance are valid, IMO. He plays the Joker with exactly the correct amount of crazy and cool. Complete chaos would be an apt description.
Also loved Gary Oldman as Gordon.
Guess that's it for now. :)
