rayvyn2kSnape stepped out of the shower, grabbed a towel and dried his body. He wrapped the damp towel around his waist, grabbed another and used it to scrub the water out of his hair and then draped it around his neck. He moved over to the sink and peered into the mirror.
Large prominent nose? Check.
Long, skinny face and body? Check.
Hair still black? He leaned closer and turned his head from side to side. Check. Not a touch of grey.
No wrinkles, either. Scowl lines, yes. Wrinkles, no.
He gave the mirror his second-best glare.
"Not even close to your usual," the mirror informed him.
"Nobody asked you," Snape grumbled.
"Well," the mirror continued. "You have to admit that you're a bit out of practice. Gone a bit soft since you retired from teaching, eh?"
"I'll show you soft," Snape growled. He silently Accioed his wand before he remembered he'd been forbidden to destroy the mirrors in this house. He glared at the mirror again. "I have not gone soft."
Hermione's reflection joined his. "Oh, I don't know. You might have softened up just a bit since the hand-fasting."
Lucius' face appeared in the middle and he draped his arms around them both. "Would someone please explain to me why we're standing here in front of a mirror?" His kissed Hermione's cheek, then Severus'. "The champagne is on ice, all ready for our celebration." He smirked. "All we need is the birthday wizard." He waved his wand and party hats appeared on all of their heads.
"Don't you think that I'm a bit...old for this sort of thing?" Severus tried to remove the offending chapeau without success.
Lucius looked affronted. "You're younger than I am!"
Snape sighed. "It's not the years, it's the mileage."
Hermione chuckled. "Don't tell me you're having a mid-life crisis on your birthday! You're only fifty, for Merlin's sake!" She stepped back and looked at him slowly, from head to foot, her gaze lingering lasciviously at the growing tent in the front of his towel. "Sexy as ever. Come back to bed, Severus." She leered at him. "Lucius and I have a gift for you that is guaranteed to reinvigorate a middle-aged wizard."
He did, and they did.
Later, laying between his slumbering spouses, Severus thought he could learn to love being fifty.
