I found Metamorphoses!

This is the group fic that guernica_shaw, snegurochka_lee, dora_the_nymph & I worked on in 2005 when we used to all get together at the Knockturn Alley forum board.

I had forgotten that we had posted it over at Sycophant Hex archive. I was reminded because I was going through my journal archives looking for something else and came across the entry with the link to the story.

I started re-reading it, and remembered how much fun it was to work on. I think we all tried to leave each other with cliffhangers that got more daunting as the story grew.

Since it's so late (or early--eek!) I had to stop after 3 chapters, but I know what I'll be reading this weekend.

I cannot tell you how happy it makes me that this particular group fic survived. I was only able to find a few chapters in my hard drive, and I thought it was lost. This made me sad because I really had a great experience writing with all of these talented women and, in spite of the note that our plot was "...shafted by HPB", what I read of it so far is good and could continue as an AU...but sadly, I think that Lee, Dora & Guernica have all moved on to bigger and better things.

After I finish re-reading it, I may have more to say about it. I would welcome any comments from any of you.

Here's the summary: Five years after the second war, Dumbledore, Professor Snape, and Magical Law Enforcement ready an unlikely band of heroes to oppose the dread Mystai Ourobouros, the magical cabal who made Tom Riddle into Voldemort. But at a time when everyone involved just wants to forget the past and forge a new future, old rivalries run deep, some things are not what they seem, and (of course) emotions keep getting in the way...

Oh my God, I have zero memory of any part of that story!!! Hahaha, I mean, I remember the title and my lovely co-writers, but wow, nothing else. I should do a reread myself... :)

I know! I was thinking about it a couple of months ago when I ran across some random chapters in my docs.

I am so happy I found it. I remember it being a twisty, fun story and I kept trying to cross you guys up by forcing Tonks and Snape together. We got the slash in with Harry & Draco. LOLOL!

I re-read it all. It still holds up! Man, I wish we had continued with the story because it's really very twisty as I remembered. I would be afraid to continue on my own because I'm not as imaginative as guernica_shaw or you.
