Feeling blue again

Just blue. The writing has become harder...Chapter 10 is taking its sweet time. Also can't seem to find any fic to read...I like SS/HG with a happy ending and not a bunch of angst. And explicit. Don't mind a bit of BDSM but I like Snape to be dominant. So, if anyone can rec something, thanks.

I think much if it is because I'm tired. Didn't sleep well last night and time screeched to a halt at work today.

Going to bed after I post this since I'm not writing anyway, so no need really to stay up.

Hubby is going to the pub tomorrow night, so hopefully will get some writing done, but there's woman's gymnastics on tomorrow night, so ... who knows.

My mom and her husband visited over the weekend and it was good. I made a prime rib dinner on Saturday and everyone came over. We had a sit down around my table and I got the best compliment from my mom in years when she said "now this is a family gathering". Woot! I always set the table with my good dishes and I used the silver too. Cloth napkins and tablecloth. Candles. The works. :) It was a good time.

Sunday we went out to breakfast with everyone (again) and then Hubby and I came home. I have been exhausted since, so today must have been a carry over.

I am on vacation next week, so just have to get thru this week and will have nine days off. But my sister is coming up on Thursday, so it's not going to be all peaceful. Hopefully it'll be better this year.

Okay, I'm off to bed. Hopefully to sleep. My love to all of you, especially my new friends in the SS/HG ship.

Yeah, I was pretty tired. Not as much this morning, but still need more sleep.
IDK how far you are from MA/RI but there is a guy who is a Snape impersonator who lives in RI. He goes to cons and when Cursed Child came out his local B&N had him come for the midnight party where he read to the kids and took pics.

Anyway, I saw him on my twitter feed and went snooping. Pretty admirable, I think. I like his music, too.

Nigel is a pretty cool guy - I met him at MISTI-Con, hanging out in the Snarry Suite. He first started giving presentations totally by accident. He was at a con, and went to a presentation on Lily. The presenter didn't show and after everyone had waited a while, I think it went that an organizer asked if anyone wanted to lead the discussion/presentation, but at any rate, he stood up, in character and costume, and said he thought he might be qualified to lead. Completely unplanned, but he found he enjoyed it. And then, he discovered that being in character gave him an amazing platform to discuss bullying, and that kids would really open up to Snape. I went to one of his presentations on bullying at MISTI-Con. Says some of the questions from kids terrify him because of the potential of making mistakes, but he was - and I assume still is - seeking out resources and advice. And he seems to have a knack for saying the right things. He said one of his worst - and best - moments came at MISTI when a little boy looked up from his seat on the floor and asked Snape, "Did your parents love you?" His answer was great, and he said later that he had no idea where it came from. (He shared, btw, that he was bullied -and abused - by his parents and at school as a kid.) As I say, he has a knack, and is a great guy dedicated to fighting bullying. Some of his talks are on youtube, as is his reading of "the Night Before Christmas" - in character.

His band also played at MISTI-Con. I'm guessing that he, if not the band, will be there next year. Are you going?

I can't afford it. The overflow hotel is 160.00 per night. Then there's airfare and the cost of the con itself. I'll just be jealous from afar.

Re: Nigel, I got that impression of him just from exploring his Snape FB page, Twitter and Instagram. I also followed his RL social media and his band's. Heh. No, I'm not a stalker, I just think what he's doing is so worthwhile.

Edited to add: I just spent the last four hours watching all his con videos. He's really very good. I wish I could see him perform one day. I like his music, too.

Is the con something your Hubby is interested in as well? 'Cause if not, I have a room to myself that I would share with you. It's at the resort, and I don't remember the price, but I think it's about the same. That would reduce your cost....

This will be my third year, and last year the vibe I got there was really good. Least judgmental most accepting space I've ever been in. Very relaxing and revitalizing.
