I finished my headpiece for the RenFest and it is really nice. I'm just a bit worried because I used soldering wire and it is very flexible. Ah, well. I will have to make another out of something more substansial next year, I suppose.

Hubby and I are going to see "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" today with a friend from work and then out to dinner. It should be fun. I am looking forward to it.

Hubby and I discussed moving from this shithole yesterday. I hate it here so much and I told him I cannot spend another summer listening to my inconsiderate neighbors' drunken revelry outside. We are going to see the sales guy at the manufactured home place to see where we stand and how far we have to go before we can get the house started.

Merry-kitty continues to recover from her surgery. Yay!

What style are you weraing? Show us the pictures!!!!

My friend Millecent is big into Burgundian (French 15th century) and wore a huge pointy hat (can't remember what they are really called)and used a bent coat hanger for the counter balance. If it's done right- you won't need any pins or clips to hold it on. Her bridla dance was "Salterello"- wich is a crazy Itallian dance that involved runing, hopping and circleing under your partners arms at breakneck speed- hat never moved an inch! I can get you a picture if you want. Just send me your email.

Have a blast!

Well, we aren't actually dressing in renaissance garb--so to speak. My hubby's costume was modelled after Aragorn and mine is a "simple" dress with bell sleeves. I will take pics and post them as soon as we get our new camera.
My headpiece is a "circlet" type which I have a "butterfly" type of pattern on the back and two "curlicues" on the sides. I've connected them with glass beads and draped silver chains and more beads on either side. I really like it, I just hope it doesn't "stretch out" because of the material I used.
