Well, the weekend was wonderfully hectic, but fabulous. My daughter found a wedding dress--and my soon-to-be daughter-in-law may have also! I am not going to post pictures of their final choices...there's too much chance of the grooms' peeking here! You guys will have to wait until after the wedding to see "the" dress.
But, I will show you some of the dresses they tried on that didn't make the cut. Warning to dial-up users...there are more than ten photos behind the cut.

But first...the ring!

The first store we went to, Amanda tried on several dresses. She told the attendant she wanted a "sheath" type dress, not too foofy. You will see from the next few pictures that they listened quite "well".

This was the closest one to what she wanted.

She tried this one next, but even the tiara and the "princess wave" didn't make her fall in love.

Time out for the queen...er, mother of the bride.

This is the one she loved in the picture she saw...but it was still "too much" dress.

This next one I knew she wouldn't pick--the ceremony is going to be on the beach, so she doesn't want anything too big--but it was my favorite until she found "the dress".

A close-up of the detail...she was saying something smarty-pants-y I'm sure.

Smile!

My son's fiance, Nicole, got into the trying-on act too.

The back view. This dress was gorgeous on her.

Here's another dress she tried on which looked fabulous, too.

Last picture of my beautiful daughter--for now...

And a bonus picture of my grandsons playing in my sister's kitchen.

I will update soon with the story of my plane trip down on Southwest Airlines, and the most amusing flight attendants ever.

By that time, the babies had been in the pool, played with the dogs and each other and were getting tired. But they didn't want to go to sleep because there were too many people, too many dogs and too much to see.

I remember days like that with my sibs too.

Haha. At first I read that as your daughter marrying the imminent daughter-in-law, and I went, "WOOOOOO!" And I was gonna scold you for not telling me. :) But still: congrats to both brides! (and grooms...) ;-)

Hey, I would have told you already! Alas, only South Florida is liberal enough to even consider same sex marriage...too bad the rest of the state is more like "Georgia-South". Because it means that my best friend and her SO cannot make their 12+ year relationship "legal", which sucks donkey dick. I wish the politicians would stay out of people's bedrooms.

Oh, I did. That story is hilarious, although I'm not sure if I can do it justice with the written word, but we'll see.

Very nice!

You got it correct with 'queen' dear!!! hee Amanda looks amazing, as does Nicole. How nice you were able to go look with them. And yes...I have an LJ account. No, I do not have a diary here, hehe.

Found the pics!! They both look fabulous and I'm sure the dresses they actually chose in the end will be gorgeous too! I especially like that dress your daughter tried - the one with the little shoulder straps that you said was your favourite one apart from the final choice. And yes, she is incredibly slim, especially for a new mother!!
